Restaurant Spotlight: B. Restaurant and Bar

One of the newer locations to eat and socialize in the Sun Valley area is B. Restaurant and Bar. Taking over the space that formerly held The Roosevelt Bar and Grille, B. has brought a new and updated atmosphere to Main Street, Ketchum, ID.

B. Restaurant and Bar

The "B" symbolizes the three partners names, John Beriker, brother Timur Beriker and their father Kerman Beriker.

"The menu features fresh, local produce, skillfully prepared in an open kitchen, with a flavorfully light touch. The wine list includes a great selection, but emphasizing "easily justifiable" great wines paired with fresh, light cuisine." Courtesy bsunvalley.com

The one on the right is the Lobster/Avocado Bomb!
The dinner hours are 5 pm until you're done, and lunch is served Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 am - 2:00 pm (during peak times... to resume President's Day weekend)

After eating there last weekend, don't miss the Avocado/Lobster Bomb, or the Red Curry Scallops, the filet was to die for as well. No matter the choice, and there are many, they will delight the senses.
And we won't forget the courteous staff.... excellent service and knowledgeable!

Looking forward to the deck this summer...

More People Use the Internet to Research Homes

It's no secret that most people start their home search by using the internet. Real estate searches on google.com have grown 253 percent over the last four years according to a joint study between the National Association of Realtors and Google.

"According to the analysis, buyers used specific online tools at different points during their home search process. Buyers tend to rely on search engines and general websites when they begin their search, use maps more in the middle of the process, and engage mobile applications most toward the end of their search."

Mortgage industry fares well in fiscal cliff deal, debt forgiveness law survives | HousingWire

The final fiscal cliff deal passed by the Senate and House on January 1, leaves hope for the housing market. Bringing back a popular tax break on mortgage insurance premiums and debt forgiveness, the mortgage industry can breath a sigh of relief.

"The law dictates that eligible borrowers who itemize their federal tax returns and have an adjusted gross income (AGI) of less than $100,000 per year can deduct 100% of their annual mortgage insurance premiums," Compass Point said.

The deal also extends the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007, set to expire Dec 31, 2012; "Homeowners who experience a debt reduction through a short sale or mortgage principal forgiveness are exempt from being taxed on the forgiven amount."

Our Quarter 4 Sales of 2012

In 2012 overall, the number of properties sold in the Sun Valley market is up 40% from the number of properties sold in 2011. In addition, our inventory of available properties is currently down 11% from the same time in 2011.
With the reduction in supply of existing properties and more buyers coming into the market, we expect even more strengthening in 2013. The first step in recovery is underway!
